Anybody
missed Metta World Peace? For those who do, looks like you will see
him again. Yahoo Sports columnist Adrian Wojnarowski reported NBA's
bad boy will return to the league, two years after leaving. His team?
No other than the Los Angeles Lakers with which he won his one and
only championship.
“The
Los Angeles Lakers are discussing the possibility of signing free
agent forward Metta World Peace to a one-year contract, league
sources told Yahoo Sports,” Wojnarowski wrote.
The
report said the talks between the two parties have already been made
with team's superstar Kobe Bryant feeling enthusiastic about the
idea.
“No
deal has been agreed upon, but there have been talks between the
Lakers and World Peace’s representatives, league sources told Yahoo
Sports.
There
are varying degrees of interest within the Lakers organization about
bringing him back to the franchise at 35 years old, although the idea
has been met with enthusiasm from Lakers star Kobe Bryant, league
sources told Yahoo Sports.”
Metta
World Peace's last team in the NBA is New York Knicks (July 2013) but
that was a disaster for him. He was waived by the Knicks by February
of 2014. He went on to travel around the world and played for
different clubs like Sichuan Blue Whales of the Chinese Basketball
Association and Pallacanestro Cantù of Italy where he had an
unforgettable stint.
