The
internet was sent abuzz in the last few days after reports revealed
Manchester United have made a £240 million offer to Barcelona for the
services of Neymar. Red Devils manager Louis van Gaal is very vocal
about his desire to sign more players but that should be someone who
is world class. He thought Neymar fits the bill.
The
Brazilian forward was vital in his team's treble win last season,
reason why some are skeptic Barcelona will took the bait.
Barcelona
president Josep Maria Bartomeu settled the issue once and for all. He
insists rumours Neymar will transfer to Manchester United are lies.
In fact, the club and the player are about to work on a new deal.
"Those
are just rumours and what people write but there is nothing to it,"
Bartomeu told Catalan radio station Catalunya Radio.
"Neymar
is happy at Barca. We don't want Neymar to leave at all.
"He
is a young player that has an international football projection above
the norm. He has helped us a lot in our recent successes.
"In
a few months' time we will discuss his contract extension as he has
three years left on his current deal. We want him to stay for many
years, three, five, 10 or even 15 years more with us."
