When Raheem Sterling City completed his transfer from Liverpool to Manchester City for £49 million, a lot of observers raised their eyebrows. They think there is no way the 21-year old is worth that money, especially with the way he performed last season.
Sterling
shut down critics though as in his first two matches for the
Citizens, he was able to score goals. This new English Premier League
season, he hasn't scored any goals but for Arsenal legend Ian Wright,
there is nothing to be alarmed. He thinks the former Liverpool player
will only get better with Manchester City.
“Raheem
Sterling has really hit the ground running — and is only going to
get better,” the Arsenal legend wrote in his article for The Sun.
Wright
added that Sterling is doing great work with team veteran David
Silva.
“And
his combinations with David Silva have been absolutely
scintillating.”
“I
must say I’m really pleased for Raheem, because he’s been getting
so much stick from opposing fans after everything that went on in the
summer,” added Wright.
“You
sense that last laugh is going to be pretty loud, and his presence
has brought another dimension to Silva’s game.”
So
far, Raheem Sterling has started in all three games by Manchester
City.
