Kobe
Bryant has reiterated that the upcoming season will not be his last.
He said in an interview with Yahoo Sports' Marc Spears he is still
crazy about playing and it is hard for him to say whether he can go
on for more seasons or not unless he stepped onto the hardwood again.
The
Los Angeles Lakers star is defiant about father time catching up on
him. If he hangs his NBA jersey, that does not mean fans won't get to
see his footwork and clutch shots again. He also said in the
interview that he can see himself playing in another league,
specifically China or Italy.
This
scenario is still uncertain but for Indiana Pacers legend Reggie
Miller, Kobe Bryant wearing another jersey, the one not from NBA, is
possible.
"Yes,"
Miller said during an appearance at The Dan Patrick Show on Friday.
"I cannot see Kobe Bryant, as we all know, as competitive as he
is, stopping after next season. But on the flip side, it depends on
that conversation he has with Mitch Kupchak, and that dollar amount.
Because, is he going to hold the Lakers hostage? ... I see him
perhaps even playing overseas."
Kobe
Bryant had significant rest last season after going down with knee
injury on January. For this season, he is positive his Los Angeles
Lakers can make the playoffs again.
“Of
course it can. Absolutely. We have talented players in their
respective positions. We have some really young players. How exactly
will the pieces of the puzzle fit? We really don't know. We are going
to [training] camp trying to piece this together just like every
other team does. We have to figure out what our strengths are, figure
out what our weaknesses are. And every time we step on the court we
are going to try to hide our weaknesses and step up to our
strengths.”
