The regulation time wasn't enough to decide who's the rightful winner of the FIBA U19 World Championship title. The final match-up between the USA and Croatia extended into overtime, which eventually led to the Americans' victory.
At the end of the 4th quarter, both squads have scored 67 points. Things just heated up in the overtime, when the defending champions forced two key turnovers which steered them to outscore their opponents 12-4. They defended their title with a 79-71 win over the Croatians.
Once again future Villanova Wildcats Jalen Brunson played well with 14 points, but it was power forward Harry Giles, who made the difference scoring 13 points and grabbing 16 rebounds.
Unlike their previous games, U.S struggled from the field, hitting just 36.7 percent of their shots.
Nik Slavica of Croatia's 23 points and six assists wasn't enough to carry his team. Marko Arapovic scored 16 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.
