Restricted free agent Nazem Kadri has signed a one-year contract to stay with the Toronto Maple Leafs. The deal's financial terms were undisclosed, but some reports suggested that Kadri will receive $4.1 million.
The 24-year old centre was picked by the Maple Leafs seventh overall in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. He played his junior career with the Kitchener Rangers and London Knights, the former of which he won the J. Ross Robertson Cup with and represented in the 2008 Memorial Cup.
Last season the Canada international recorded 18 goals and 39 points in his 73 games for the Maple Leafs. He had a career-best of 20 goals and 50 points in 2013-14.
Kadri played for Canada in the 2010 World Junior Championships, where the team won the silver medal.
