Sampdoria sporting director Carlo Osti has stated that they are working on signing Inter Milan defender Matias Silvestre.
"We're working to bring Silvestre back to Samp," Osti told Samp TV. "He had a great time here with us and we hope to bring him back in the next few days."
Osti believed that the Argentine can bring great development in the team's defence.
"The squad needs to be completed. We're missing something at the back and we're working to sort out the defence. Our commitments begin early this year, while the market only closes on August 31. We need to balance these two aspects."
The 30-year-old centre back was officially loaned to Internazionale on July 2012 for € 3 million. However, he struggled to gain a regular spot in Inter's line-up thus, he was put on loan to Milan the following year. On 2014 Silvestre was signed by Sampodria in another temporary deal where he appeared 29 times.
