Marc Marquez has led both free practices ahead of the German MotoGP at the Sachsenring circuit.
The world champion led the way from 10 minutes into the session and gained a time of 1m21.621s with his final lap. He was followed by Tech 3's Bradley Smith, who got the closest with a 0.119s gap.
Third spot went to Ducati's Andrea Iannone with Jorge Lorenzo in the fourth.
Lorenzo's co-Yamaha rider Valentino Rossi wasn't able to improve upon his first-practice time and came seventh with almost a minute gap from Marquez.
The Laverty siblings with Michael Laverty as a late replacement for Aprilia Gresini fell in the bottom of the standings.
