Manchester United manager and former Bayern Munich coach Louis van Gaal has stood firm that they won't be selling David de Gea this summer and warned Real Madrid to forget about acquiring the goalkeeper.
The 24-year-old has yet to feature on a Red Devils match in the 2015-16 campaign, which led to speculations linking him with a move to the Bernabeu.
It was earlier reported that the Spaniard's agent Jorge Mendes is keen to finalise the deal, but Van Gaal is adamant that he will be staying at Old Trafford.
"I think when Manchester United wants a player he shall come, [apart from] when a club is not selling," Van Gaal told a group of reporters.
"Okay, then it is the same with us. We are not selling De Gea. It's the same."
De Gea, who has been with the United since 2011 will have his contract expire next summer and is expected to sit out the visit of Newcastle United this afternoon, with Sergio Romero poised to continue between the sticks.
