Chelsea are reportedly willing to break transfer record in order to acquire the services of France international Paul Pogba before the transfer window closes in a few days.
The 22-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Manchester City and Barcelona earlier this summer, but both clubs were allegedly priced out by the reigning Italian champions.
Meanwhile, according to the London Evening Standard, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is desperate to sign the midfielder and is prepared to spend more than the £50 million the club handed over to Liverpool for Fernando Torres in 2011.
The 52-year-old Portuguese coach is dissatisfied with Cesc Fabregas and Nemanja Matic's performance in the central midfield as they started the 2015-16 season, and he wants to get Pogba as a great addition to the Blues' defence.
However, the report also claimed that Chelsea are unlikely to sign the former Manchester United player within just seven days. Pogba is said to be valued at £71 million.
