LeBron posts triple-double to level the series

Cavaliers evens out final series
The Eastern Conference champs are heading home with a game a piece in their NBA Finals matchup against the Golden State Warriors. The Cleveland Cavaliers proved to be so much for the Western squad earning them a much coveted away win.

Thanks to a terrific game by LeBron James, his team was able to move forward even with the absence of Kyrie Irving. The point guard is back in Ohio recovering from his knee surgery. He is ruled out from the finals after limping out of the court in Game 1.

James finished with 39 points, 16 rebounds, and 11 assists in 50 minutes. His triple double with the help of Matthew Dellavedova's free throws in overtime help the Cavs to withstand a late push by the home team.

"I tried to give it all to my teammates. And they do a great job of giving it back to me. Total team effort," the former MVP who looked to be worn out as the game progressed said. "To be back in the same position we were in three days ago and to come back and even the series is big time."

This was the second straight overtime game of the series and unlike the first one Stephen Curry's performance left a lot to be desired. He finished with 19 points and made the game-tying layup with 7.2 seconds left in regulation time. However, he missed 18 of his 23 attempts, including an air ball in the last 4.4 seconds of the overtime, giving his team their 4th loss in 51 home games this season.

"I doubt this will happen again, with the adjustments I'll make once I look at the film," the regular season MVP said. "One game is not going to make me stop shooting or alter my confidence at all."

"Early in the game I thought I was a little hesitant when I had an open shot, kind of pausing for a second and then trying to raise up and shoot it, and you just don't get a rhythm that way," he added.

The other half of the Splash Brothers, Klay Thompson wrapped up the game with 34 points, but the rest of the team shot just 34.5 percent.

"Our offense was horrible," forward Draymond Green said. "I think we did a really good job on defense. But we were really, really bad offensively. It's hard to win when you can't score and we struggled to score tonight."

Game 3 will be on June 10, 9:00 (GMT+8) at Quicken Loans Arena, Cleveland.
