Following Karim Benzema's denial of the rumours linking him with Arsenal, the Gunners are reportedly desperate to acquire Dynamo Moscow forward Alexander Kokorin before the transfer window closes.
Arsène Wenger is allegedly close to signing the 24-year-old striker who has also been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United and Tottenham over the course of the summer, with PSG and Zenit also believed to be interested in signing him.
However, according to the Daily Star, Wenger is close to convincing the Russian international to shun interest from elsewhere and move to North London.
Being considered as one of the top strikers in Russia, Kokorin's agent was once quoted as saying that he is working on a deal to bring his client to the Premier League, but a specific destination club was not mentioned.
