Floyd
Mayweather Jr is fighting again. However, the person on the other
side is not the one who has openly challenged him right after his
victory against Manny Pacquiao last May. Pretty Boy is definitely the
favorite against Andre Berto, a two-time Welterweight champion and
the current WBA Welterweight Interim Champion. Money is on the Money
team but Berto warns, it will not be that easy for the undefeated
American fighter.
TMZ
Sports caught up with Andre Berto, 31, and was asked about his
upcoming fight with the 38-year old Floyd Mayweather Jr which will
take place on September 12. Berto only said few words but enough to
make bettors think twice.
Berto
said Floyd Mayweather Jr's invite to fans to see him make history
"sounds good” but he insists he is “gonna be in there with a
different animal bro."
He
said that he, too, is aiming for history. A win against Floyd
Mayweather Jr. means staining the latter's immaculate record.
"We
focused and dialed in ready to MAKE history!"
Berto
is not fighting this battle alone. He found a backer in friend and
loud Floyd Mayweather Jr. challenger Amir Khan.
“I'm
going to continue working hard to establish myself at the top of the
welterweight division. Floyd Mayweather has fought the biggest names
throughout his career and has earned the right to face whoever he
chooses,” Khan said according to a report by BBC Sport.
“I
wish my stable-mate Andre Berto and trainer Virgil Hunter the very
best of luck in the fight. I have seen how hard Andre trains and
works and know that he is ready to give Floyd a very tough night.”
