Portuguese footballer Pepe claimed that his focus is dedicated in helping Real Madrid in winning titles and having a successful season despite his contract coming to an end.
The 32-year-old defender's current deal with Los Blancos will expire next summer and there's no talks about a possible extension just yet. However, Pepe insisted that he's not worrying about it and he's happy to leave the matter to his agent and President Florentino Perez.
"[Sergio Ramos] has looked good [in training] and no Madridista is thinking about a Madrid without Sergio," the former Porto player commented on the possible move of Ramos ahead of their International Champions Cup friendly against Inter.
"He's our captain and I’m sure will stay with us. He loves the club and we also love him very much.
"I hope he stays because he's our captain and reference point.
"I'm happy to work every day at this club, my agent and the President are the people who will deal with [my renewal].
"What I’m hoping for is that we win trophies this year, and I'm only thinking about that right now.
"The most important thing is to be in good shape for the first League match of the season, and we're gathering pace.
"Every Coach has their own mentality, the whole team are hard and embracing what the Coach is asking of us. Rafa [Benitez] wants the team to work a lot."
Pepe started playing for Real Madrid in 2007, winning a Champions League, two La Liga, and a couple of Copa del Rey titles with the club.
