Madagascar and Mali win opening games at 2015 FIBA Africa U16 Women's Championship

Madagascar and Mali were off to a good start in the 2015 FIBA Africa U16 Women's Championship. Both squads won their opening games in the fourth edition of the tournament.

The hosts Madagascar had a quick start and easily led 17-6 in the first quarter. They have extended their advantage to 31-12 at the halftime when they made 14 points and capitalized on Morocco's turnovers.
Triumph for the host in their debut

Minaoharisoa Jaofera helped her team to get the win with a game-high 14 points while Lalaina Emilie Rasoanomenjanahary finished the match with a dozen. Their combined score with the rest of the team was more than enough to get a 62-29 victory.

On the other hand, reigning champions Mali are looking to toughen their chances of defending their title with a 77-50 win over Mozambique.

At the end of the first quarter Mali have only a slight edge over their opponents with a 21-18 score. Their lead was multiplied by three at the end of the first half 38-29.

Mozambique weren't able to respond to the pressure being given by the other side as they've succumbed to their defense and shooting skills.

Rokia Doumbia and Djeneba Sangare had great great contributions to the team win with both 18 points.
