The huge question remains as to who five-division world champion Floyd Mayweather will fight next.
With the continuous speculations about who will be Mayweather's next opponent, Kazakh boxer Gennady Golovkin stepped forward and volunteered himself. GGG currently holds an unbeaten record like Pretty Boy. He is 33-0 while the latter sits at 48-0.
Golovkin told Max Kellerman of SportsNation that if his bout with the American happens, it would be "the greatest fight in the world." However, Golovkin must shed some pounds in order to be considered as he currently weighs around 158-159 pounds for his last two fights and Mayweather is at 154 pounds.
"Look at me, I'm not big, I'm not fat," Golovkin is quoted by BoxingScene.com. "My couple of last fights, I was 158, 159. It's possible for me [to go down to fight him]. I would go to 154 just for Floyd. I understand that this is biggest fight in the world. This would show who is who, the best fighter in the world."
The imminent September bout no matter who he will be facing is reportedly Mayweather's last fight. He is looking to end his boxing career on a high note and be fully considered as The Best Ever.
