Dieter Hecking to extend contract with Wolfsburg

Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs stated that coach Dieter Hecking has agreed to extend his contract with the club.

The 50-year-old retired footballer has started managing the Bundesliga club in 2012 and has still a year remaining on his current deal. He had led the Wolves to a second-place finish in the German table last season.

"I don't know if we're going to get it done in time for the start of the season, but Dieter Hecking is going to extend his contract with us," Allofs informed Kicker.

Wolfsburg will open their 2015-16 Bundesliga campaign against Eintracht Frankfurt on August 15 at the Volkswagen Arena.
