Support striker Franco Brienza has aired out his excitement after agreeing terms with Bologna.
The 36-year-old Italian became a free agent after his contract with Cesena expired, allowing him to join a new Serie A club.
"I am happy and was waiting for an opportunity like this," Brienza told the Tutto Mercato Web.
"I had offers from Serie B and wish to thank those clubs, but as soon as Bologna arrived it was all over. This is an important side and an historic club. They certainly need no introduction.
"I can’t wait to put myself at the disposal of my teammates and Coach to give them a hand. At my age it's only right to sign a one-year contract and take it one season at a time.
"I had a great campaign and felt good. I hope to continue feeling good and we’ll see how it goes."
Brienza transferred to Cesena from Atalanta in August 2014 for a one-year contract. He made a great impression, recording eight domestic goals and five assists last season.
