Barbara Seixas and Agatha Bednarczuk won their first beach volleyball world championship by beating fellow Brazilian pair Taiana Lima and Fernanda Alves 21-18, 22-20.
Despite of coming behind three points in the first set before drawing 15-15, the second set was even closer
second set was even closer, with Seixas finally sealing the win on their third match point.
Meanwhile for the men Brazilians Alison Cerutti and Bruno Oscar Schmidt saved five match points to beat Dutch pair Reinder Nummerdor and Christiaan Varenhorst 12-21, 21-14, 22-20.
The Netherlands dominated the first set before Brazil recovered to take the second and then held out in the longest third set of the tournament.
