Wozniacki ousts from French Open

Caroline Wozniacki upset in French Open
Most of the seeded players in the men's side, advanced easily in the next round, but it was a different story on the other part as high profile casualties continue to pile up in the women's division.

Caroline Wozniacki followed the third seed Romanian, Simona Halep, who lost in straight sets and Eugenie Bouchard, who is dubbed as the next big thing as she herself got ousted by Julia Görges 6-4, 7-6(4) on the Court Philippe Chatrier.

The former world number one's frustration in the French Open keeps on, as once again she failed to grab a major. She has never advanced beyond the quarterfinal of the said tourney which she did once in 2010. Last year wasn't much of a different story since she fell in the first round. This time Görges proved to be an enough obstacle to hinder her progress into the third round.

Caro is known for her defensive style, focusing on her anticipation, movement, agility and footwork. This merited her the label of being a counter-puncher. Nonetheless, her performance wasn't much to counter her opponent's will to win. The German battled back from being a break down to clinch the opening set and played a solid tie break to send Wozniacki out of the competition.

Julia Görges onto to the next round
"She's given me trouble in the past and she gave me trouble again today,'' the 24-year old said. "And that sucks.''

The two women were far from each other in the rankings, but their 4-4 head-to-head record proves that they are each other's quality opponent. The ranked 72nd just live with her 3-0 reputation on clay against the Monte Carlo resident.

"I think especially on clay she has a way to make me feel like I'm not playing very well,'' Wozniacki said. "I was really trying to do better this time than I have done in the past against her on clay, so it didn't work. Obviously, I prefer hard courts, and my game against her matches better on hard courts or on grass. I think that would be a better matchup for me.''
