Miguel Cabrera leads in first MLB All-Star Voting Update

Miguel Cabrera is on his way to be named the starting first baseman for the American League All-Star team for the second consecutive year.
Last Tuesday the first All-Star ballot was released and Cabrera currenlty leads the basemen in balloting.
Cabrera, an All-Star in each of the last five seasons, ranks third among all AL players in balloting with 1,347,351 total votes. He trails Kansas City outfielder Lorenzo Cain and catcher Salvador Perez, who leads all AL players in balloting with 1,447,753 votes. Hosmer, meanwhile, trails Cabrera by about 245,000 total votes.
Cabrera who have a league-leading .446 on-base percentage, and has hit .344 with 11 home runs and 32 RBIs this season.

"I'd be more surprised if he wasn't (leading at first base)," manager Brad Ausmus said of Cabrera, who has been named to nine All-Star games in his 13-year career.
Cabrera is the only Tigers player in line to be named to the AL's starting lineup. Five Royals players are in line for starting spots, while three other Royals currently sit in second. Among those in line for a starting spot is Alcides Escobar, who leads Jose Iglesias by about 365,000 votes at shortstop.
