Adam Federici inks deal with Bournemouth

As Bournemouth climb to the top flight of English football, they have signed Reading's goalkeeper Adam Federici on a three-year deal.

Federici became a free agent when his contract expired and Bournemouth were quick to acquire his services. He is an Australian footballer who played for the Royals for a decade, having made a total of 245 appearances and even played 23 times in the Premier League when his former club was promoted.

The 30-year old who also suited for his country in the World Cup last 2010 considered staying in the Championship. He had a good reputation and even earned a spot as a fan favorite. However, the lure of playing in the upper tier is more than good enough to seal the agreement.

"It was difficult to leave Reading - I had been there an extremely long time," the former Wolves' mainstay told Bournemouth's website.

"I feel like I'm joining something special and I'm looking forward to working with the manager and the boys. I can't wait to get started," he added.

"I had a lot of success at Reading and the fans were great for me, but I thought it was time I moved on."

He will be joining former Southampton goalie, Artur Boruc who also inked a one-year deal with the Cherries.
