Madrid rivalry in Copa del Rey finals!
After a serious beating from Borussia
Dortmund in Champions League semifinals, Real Madrid are now focused
and determined to seal Copa del Rey trophy against their rival, Atletico
Madrid this Friday, May 17, 3:30 PM (ET)

Real
Madrid notched its finals berth by beating the Primera Division
champions Barcelona in the semifinals, 1-1 draw at the 1st leg and 3-1
at the 2nd leg. Cristiano Ronaldo delivered the goods at Camp Nou in
their last game by scoring at 13th minute at the penalty and an early
second half goal at 57th.
Real Madrid, who already has 18 Copa del Rey
championships will be gunning for their 19th since 2010-2011 season.
Failing to defend La Liga and Champions League crowns this season, The
Los Blancos will surely be on their feet to regain respect and make a
statement for their followers.
On
the other hand, Atletico Madrid advanced to the finals by closely
winning against Sevilla at 2-1 at the 1st leg, and 2-2 draw at the 2nd
leg. It was not a convincing victory for Simeone's crew but the 2nd
runner-up Atletico will surely give Real Madrid a tough match.
Star
striker Radamel Falcao has to perform at its best together with the
support of Diego Costa and midfielder Raul Garcia. It was more than a
decade ago when Atletico Madrid triumphed in Copa del Rey. That '95-'96
squad were very dominant in Spain for they were the champions of Copa
del Rey and La Liga at the same time, and it would be a very good
closing if they are to win the Copa del Rey crown and possibly start a
strong campaign next season in La Liga.
Now,
the question will be – how can Falcao and his crew contain Ronaldo from
scoring? What will be the adjustments and strategies of Jose Mourinho
for The Los Blancos? For the Los Indios, can they pull off an upset to
the most valued football team in the world?
Don't forget to watch this exciting finale!
