Benfica: Win or go home!

One man was branded as the hero. He was
the only one who proved to be the difference of these two evenly
matched up teams. His header was enough for his team, Fenerbahce, to
claim victory over Benfica. He goes by the name of Egemen Korkmaz,
the hero of Fenerbahce.
His header proved to be enough to put
his team close enough to taste their first ever European final
although Benfica will be now adapting and adjusting their strategy in
next week's return to Lisbon.
Fenerbahce really took advantage of
their home court fans. Roared on by the raucous crowd, the kick-off
started already at a high tempo as Benfica struggled to setttle into
their stride. Pressure kept building up as the game clock went on
prompting Benfica coach Jorge Jesus to say “Normally we are a team
that delivers when we find opportunities, but tonight we couldn't do
that.”

However, Benfica would have to take
advantage as Fenerbahce's Moussa Sow will miss the second leg after
receiving yellow card. He was one of the almost-heroes for Fenerbahce
as he struck the crossbar and maintained the pressure.
Benfica's best chance came when
Nicoloas Gaitan curled a shot against the outside of the post but
Fenebahce held on for the victory despite some anxious moments.

Benfica know will be in a place where
redemption is the only way out. Adjustments should be made to get
their desired outcome. Being in the Europa League is no easy feat but
staying in it requires more hard work, creativity and flexibility.
On May 4 at 20:05(UTC), Can Benfica
make adjustments and recover form their loss? Can they use their home
field advatnage against Fenerbahce? Can Benfica bring the glory back
to Lisbon? There only way to find out.
