Jamie Murray wins over Andy Murray in Rogers Cup doubles

Jamie Murray beats Andy Murray in Rogers Cup doubles
In their first ever senior competitive meeting, Jamie Murray has beaten his younger brother and world's No. 3 Andy Murray.

Jamie together with John Peers won over Andy and Leander Paes 6-4 7-6 (11-9) in the second round of the men's doubles at the Rogers Cup in Montreal.

Britain's top tennis player and his partner tried to recover from 5-1 down to level the second-set tie-break but could not deny the seventh seeds.

However, Andy in an earlier game has reached the quarterfinals of the men's singles by beating Gilles Muller 6-3 6-2. But, he wasn't able to recover his energy when in just over an hour he had to play his brother for the double's match.

"It's weird to not get really pumped up when you play and every time you look down the other side of the net, that's your brother there," said Jamie, the 2007 Wimbledon mixed doubles champion.

"I think Andy and I did a pretty good job of dealing with the situation, which was obviously not that natural. We're happy to win."

On the other hand, the two-time Grand Slam winner felt 'awkward' on his match with his sibling.

"I always support him to win those matches," said Andy. "The atmosphere is a bit awkward for everyone involved.

"I don't want to be fist pumping and getting in Jamie's face and his partner's."
