Federer defeats Djokovic to win 7th Cincinnati Masters title

Roger Federer wins seventh Cincinnati Masters title
Roger Federer triumphed over world number one Novak Djokovic in straight sets to claim his seventh Cincinnati Masters title.

The 34-year-old Swiss athlete showed that he still have what it takes to win despite his age with a classic performance to win 7-6, 6-3 in just 90 minutes on Sunday.

It was Federer's first time facing the Serbian after losing to him in the Wimbledon final for a second straight year last month. He made a great comeback with his superb service throughout the match and a great attacking style against his opponent's serve.

The first set ended into a tie-break wherein Federer easily secured a 7-1 lead, while the second set proved to be easier, earning him the first break of the match  to brush aside his rival with ease.

"I tried to really mix it up on his second serve and I was hoping to serve good enough myself to keep me out of trouble," Federer said after the match.

"He had that one bad game at the beginning of the second set, which made the difference in the match."
