It's been a month since British singer-songwriter Sam Smith has undergone surgery to stop the hemorrhage on his vocal chords. He was forced to reschedule some of his tour dates in order to accommodate his surgery and recovery.
"Sam Smith underwent vocal cord microsurgery by Dr. Steven Zeitels to stop recurrent vocal cord hemorrhage (bleeding). This condition is the result of unstable blood vessels in the vocal cord that can rupture and prevent vocal performance," stated the Massachusetts General Hospital, where Smith had his operation.
The Grammy winner who recently turned 23 had to restrain himself from speaking for three weeks, and will have to wait for another three to five more weeks before being able to sing again.
Looking at his Instagram account, it looks like the Stay with Me artist has already regained his mind-blowing voice and is looking forward to his rescheduled Australian concert tour.
Check out his cool positive posts below.
"Completely overwhelmed. Thank you so much Doctor Zeitels for everything. You have truly saved me this past few months. Such an amazing man. You truly truly truly don't know what you got until you lose it. I have fallen in love with music all over again over this past month, and more than ever I feel so blessed to be able to sing and do what I love every day xx"
