Philippines to host 2015 FIBA 3×3 World Tour
Once again, the Philippines will be one of the stops for the FIBA 3x3 World Tour. The event will be held on August 1-2, giving the country a chance to defend their title in front of their home crowd.

Philippines basketball executive Sonny Barrios confirmed that preparations are already underway for the Manila Masters which will be the first leg of this year's FIBA 3x3 World Tour. This will be followed by contests in Prague, Beijing, Lausanne, Mexico, Rio de Janeiro and Abu Dhabi.

The two-day event will be held at the Robinsons Place Manila, where the top two finalists will qualify for the World Tour Final in Abu Dhabi on October 15-16.

The Manila Western team previously competed in the final leg in Japan by defeating the world champion team Qatar. This year the Filipinos will still be handled by champion college coach Eric Altamirano.

Fiba.com confirmed that several outstanding teams like Team Doha who is led by Qatar national team mainstay Yasseen Musa will be coming back to the Southeast Asian nation for the tournament. He is expected to be joined by 2011 NBA draft pick Tanguy Ngombo.

Reigning FIBA 3×3 World Tour champion NoviSad of Serbia, AlWhaba, Ljubljana, Team Auckland (New Zealand) and Japanese team Saitama are all likely to compete in the competition.
