Max Mosley labels F1 driver salaries as 'absurd'

Max Mosley hits out on driver salaries
In his exclusive interview with the GQ Magazine former FIA president Max Mosley hit out on the scale of driver salaries in F1.

“It is absurd,” he told GQ's Alistair Campbell.

“If I was a dictator in the sport, each team would have the same money and you could spend more on the driver or less on the car or vice versa. All the driver worries about is what he earns compared with the other guy.”

When it was announced that British racer, Lewis Hamilton has inked a three-year deal with Mercedes, speculations arose that it amounts to £100 million or more.

Double world champion Fernando Alonso is also believed to be getting a pay increase as a part of the contract when he moved from Ferrari to McLaren-Honda.

With these, Mosley believes that most drivers are just worrying about what they're earning compared to the other guys.
