Despite reports linking him with a move to Arsenal and AC Milan, Schalke 04's defender Benedikt Howedes chose to stay at the German club.
Different teams have shown interest to acquire his services after his impressive stint at last summer's World Cup. He had made an impact after playing every minute of Germany's successful campaign
Howedes has also established and made an important spot for himself with Schalke to whom he played since his youth career in 2001 and debuted with in 2007. He's been known for his versatile defence, where he can play as a central defender or at left back.
The 27-year-old who is currently valued at around £15 million by his club fully rejected other offers and decided to remain at Veltins-Arena for another season.
"Arsenal and AC Milan were really keen on my services," he was quoted by Sky Sports News. "But I have decided in favour of Schalke."
