West Ham United have confirmed their third signing of the summer, Dimitri Payet.
The French international will be joining the Premier League side, coming from Ligue 1's Marseille on a five-year deal for an undisclosed eight-figure salary.
Payet had scored seven goals in his 37 appearances with the Les Phocéens last season. He played for the Great Danes for a couple of years before he eventually moved at the Stade Vélodrome in June 2013.
The 28-year-old winger started to play for his country as a member of the French under-21 international in 2007 and now has a total of 14 caps.
Payet spoke of his appreciation and happiness on his transfer through West Ham United's official website.
"West Ham really showed me that they wanted me to come, both the Joint-Chairmen and the manager. That's very important for me. I was also keen to sign up to a clear project. West Ham is very interesting and matches perfectly with my ambitions," Payet said.
"I'm an attacking footballer so for sure I like attacking football and that they're counting on me to help achieve that gives me a sense of responsibility. The fact that I'm here is also down to that.
"I'm very happy to be here. It's true that it's taken a little while, but that's normal, negotiations are like that. But now that it's done, I'm very happy."
