Sergio Ramos advised his compatriot David De Gea to knuckle down and carry on after his move from Manchester United to Real Madrid collapsed.
Despite of the sad news that the transfer fell apart with Madrid blaming United and United blaming Madrid.
De Gea has since joined up with the Spain national team, alongside Ramos, who himself was over the summer close to swapping Santiago Bernabeu for Old Trafford.
“I haven’t spoken to De Gea and I don’t know what he’s thinking, but life goes on. Nobody’s died,” Ramos said.
“Now he must keep working at the high level he has had over the years. He’s one of the great goalkeepers.
“It’s been a difficult summer for him because it’s his future and that of his family. We all go through these thing sometimes. You have to get on with it and do your best wherever you are.”
