Roma defender Federico Balzaretti will reportedly be announcing his retirement in a press conference tomorrow. However, he won't be leaving football altogether, but he will be taking a role behind the scenes.
The Italian international who has been playing with the Giallorossi since 2012 has been battling a pelvic injury for the past two seasons. He only had a single appearance in Roma's last campaign.
A report on Gianluca Di Marzio’s website says that the 33-year-old will announce that he will be hanging up his boots, in front of a group of reporters tomorrow. He had previously admitted that his pelvic condition could actually end his carer.
The same report also stated that the former Juventus player won't be leaving the sports entirely as he is set to join sporting director Walter Sabatini's staff.
Balzaretti will be taking Roma's concluding game last season, wherein he played the full 90 minutes as the final match of his career.
