Floyd
Mayweather Jr is undefeated in his 48 boxing fights as a
professional. He has another fight on September 12 against Andre
Berto but observers don't think the latter will be able to stain the
record of the controversial American boxer.
This
clean record is the same thing Floyd uses in arguments concerning the
question who is the world's greatest boxer ever. He thinks this
record alone is enough for him to be crowned the greatest boxer to
ever libe or in his own words, TBE (The Best Ever).
Oscar
de la Hoya, who he beat in 2007, is totally against such self
proclamation. He thinks Pretty Boy is not the greatest ever.
"When
he says that he's the best ever, it's not true. It's just not true,"
De La Hoya told boxingscene.com.
"I'm
just speaking the facts. For me the best ever, and for a lot of
people, is like Sugar Ray Robinson, Muhammad Ali, Julio Cesar
Chavez."
"It's
like okay, you want to tell people you're the best ever, well, I'm
going to say that you're not and a lot of people are going to say
you're not. It's the truth," said De La Hoya.
De
La Hoya insisted though that he is not reducing Mayweather Jr's
skills and victories. He is just stating an undeniable fact.
"I'm
not bringing him down. He's skillful, I admire that. He's a fighter,
I admire that. But don't be telling people that you're the best
ever."
