Defender Jerome Boateng claimed that Bayern Munich's disappointing exits in the last two seasons of the Champions League will serve as the team's motivation.
The Bavarians have been knocked out of the competition this past couple of years at the semi-final stage. Boateng is hoping that the club will be able to cruise to the finals this time. They have last raised the Champions League trophy in 2013, when they triumphed over Borussia Dortmund at Wembley.
"We're in the Champions League semi-finals almost every year," the 26-year-old told Goal.com ahead of Thursday's group stage draw. "But the way in which we have gone out was bitter.
"So, our goal is to get back in the final this season.
"The most important title for us is the Bundesliga but the Champions League is something special; a trophy that everyone wants to win."
The Bundesliga champions will be hosting Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
