Forward Cody Eakin signed a four-year contract with the Dallas Stars on Friday.
Cody Eakin aka Ginger Ninja is staying with the Dallas Stars starts next season and runs through 2019-20. Though the financial terms were not released, but reports claim it has an average annual value of $3.85 million.
The 24-year-old set NHL career highs last season with 19 goals, 21 assists and 40 points in 78 games. He also had six game-winning goals and won 50.8 percent of his faceoffs.
"Cody is a well-rounded player and has the versatility to play in a number of roles," Stars general manager Jim Nill said.
"He has the ability to shut down opponent's top players, win faceoffs and kill penalties, all while producing offensively. Cody has been an important part of our team and will continue to be a part of our core for the next five seasons."
