Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs has called out striker Nicklas Bendtner to improve his fitness or find a new club.
In April, the 27-year-old Denmark international has been dropped for a fixture against Schalke after turning up late for training and now he has been working on an individual training programme to enhance his condition which manager Dieter Hecking has said to be completely behind his team.
Bendtner used to play for Arsenal before moving into the Volkswagen Arena last summer. He had a tough time earning a regular starting spot, having just one goal in 18 league appearances last season.
With the arrival of Max Krus from Borussia Monchengladbach and a better performance from Bas Dos, Bendtner must work doubly hard to prove his worth.
"The demands on a footballer in Germany are different to in England or in Denmark," Allofs told Sport Bild magazine.
"If anybody wants to play for us then they can follow us. Anybody who doesn't want to do that and does not get in line has no place at this club."
Hecking has been seeing to the footballer's training and said, "I hope he realises this is good for him. He can really do with this to get better."
