United States roll past Argentina to book a quarter-final seat

United States defeat Argentina to enter FIBA World Championships quarter-finals
The United States have once again proven their dominance as they've more than doubled the output of Argentina at the FIBA U19 World Championships in Greece. They will be heading to the tournament quarter-finals after a 93-45 victory over the South American squad.

All American line-up scored at least a couple of points and the whole squad shot 58.1 percent from the field while restricting the Argentines to 21 percent shooting. The scoreboard didn't reflect the somewhat lousy game between both teams. Even the winning side committed 26 turnovers while the other had 23.

The difference between the two teams was that the Americans converted Argentina turnovers into 20 points and had a 48-14 advantage in points in the paint. These factors were enough to conclude the game with a 48-points margin.

Forward Harry Giles led the U.S. with 17 points and 12 rebounds in his 17 minutes of action off the bench. Fellow 2016 prospect Jayson Tatum added 14 points while incoming Arizona freshman recorded 13 swishes.

Oklahoma State signee Jawun Evans came up with two points and four dimes plus two steals in 16 minutes. On the other hand, former Oklahoma prep standout and Arizona signee Allonzo Trier had 13 points, three rebounds, and three steals in his 19 minutes for Team USA.

The United States will be playing Italy in the last 8 on Friday (6:15 p.m. central).
