Rajeev Ram won his second ATP World Tour title in Hall of Fame Tennis Championships by beating Ivo Karlovic 7-6(5), 5-7, 7-6(2).
“To say that I felt like I’d be the winner at the end of the week… I had no idea,” said Ram
“The first win was more elation, this one is more satisfaction just because I did it again.”
Ram was able to clinched the opening set in 54-minutes after Karlovic sent a volley into the net in the eventual tie-break.While on the third set would go to a tie-break, which saw Ram race ahead and earn four championship points. Karlovic sent a volley into the net, sealing the win for the American after two hours and 23 minutes.
“It was a difficult match,” said Karlovic. “In the end, he was a little bit better. Like last year, it was a really tight match. I could have won both years. There’s always next year.”
