Former FIFA president Jeffrey Webb who has been one of the men arrested in Switzerland in May on corruption charges has pleaded not guilty. He has raised a $10 million worth of bond to secure his release on bail.
The indicted football official is currently under house arrest in New York after putting up 11 luxury watches, 10 homes, three cars, and some jewelry as a bond.
According to an earlier report, Webb raised the bond with the following possessions:
- Ten real estate properties owned by Webb, his wife, and family
- A 2015 Ferrari, 2014 Range Rover, and 2003 Mercedes-Benz
- A 401k account belonging to his wife
- A partnership equity interest in an undisclosed company also owned by his wife
- Eleven luxury watches owned by Webb including a Cartier, Rolex and Hublot
- A diamond wedding ring, diamond bracelet, diamond and pearl necklace, pearl earrings, diamond earrings, and two luxury watches owned by his wife
Aside from residing within 20 miles of the court in Brooklyn, Webb must also subject to electronic monitoring as well as a private security monitoring which he must pay for himself.
Webb, a citizen of the Cayman Islands didn't deny the extradition to the United States as a part of his indictment along with nine other officials and five marketing executives who allegedly are guilty of a $150 million bribery and kickback scheme. Four others have already pleaded guilty.
FIFA and CONCACAF where Webb had been president since 2012 has suspended him already.
