Mexico Admits They Don't Deserve To Win?
Losing is the last thing any person or team would want to experience. Getting cheated on is another case. Over at North America where the CONCACAF Gold Cup is being held, Panama still can't get over the fact that they will not march to the finals. The Red Tide, as they fondly call themselves, lost to Mexico, 2-1, in extra time. For them, the result would have been different if CONCACAF is not a corrupt organization. The team and its fans are accusing the group of siding with Mexico, no thanks to that questionable call in extra time made by American referee Mark Geiger that gave the opponents a penalty kick.

Panama's
semifinals loss to Mexico stings to everyone involved in the team,
especially to coach Hernan Dario Gomez who said he thought of
quitting his job because of what happened. He even called it a vile
robbery.
"It's
the first time this has happened to me, it's hard, I was saying to
myself 'I don't want to carry on any longer in football because this
was a vile robbery'."
His
counterpart at Mexico, Miguel Herrera, of course has a different
take. Still he cannot deny the penalty called was wrong and admitted
that they don't serve to win with the way they played.
"The
first [spot kick] was not a penalty but that's not my fault, the fact
is we didn't deserve to win the match because we didn't play at all
well,” Herrera said.
"That's
football and it's not ideal. The first wasn't a penalty but the
chance fell to us and we made the most of the circumstances (but)
we're quite bothered to have won in this manner, playing badly."

Shortly
after Panama's Gold Cup semis loss, they published a photo of the
team holding a banner with words “CONCACAF Corrupt Thieves”.
Several local newspapers also slammed the competition with one of its
top publications venting their anger towards the referee who was
pictured holding lots of cash.
