Costa signed a five-year deal with the Bundesliga club after playing for the Miners since 2010. He had contributed 29 goals in his 149 appearances with the Ukrainian side where he also won the league title five consecutive times.
The attacking midfielder is looking forward to play for the Bavarians and would want to follow the footsteps of his great compatriots.
"I'm proud to become a player for Bayern, following in the footsteps of so many magnificent Brazilian players," Costa said at his official press conference.
"I'm looking forward to playing for this magnificent team and will do everything I can to fulfil the expectations placed in me."
Bayern sporting director Matthias Sammer also acknowledged what the Brazilian can bring to the team, "Douglas Costa will be good for our team. "He has great technical ability, a powerful left foot, he is very agile and extremely quick."
