Bayern Munich's Jerome Boateng joins Jay Z's label

Bayern Munich's Jerome Boateng signs to Jay Z's Roc Nation Sports label
Jerome Boateng of Bayern Munich has joined Roc Nation Sports label owned by American rapper and record producer Jay Z.

The 26-year-old defender is the first footballer to join Jay Z's sports agency which began in 2013. Boateng has made a name for himself after winning three consecutive Bundesliga titles with the Bavarians and being a part of Germany's squad in their successful World Cup campaign in 2014.

In his recent interview with Welt am Sonntag, the former Manchester City player revealed that he celebrated the deal with the multi-awarded hip hop artist at the musician's sports bar The 40/40 Club in Brooklyn, New York, before jetting off to Jay Z's private villa in Los Angeles.

"I took my sister and my best friend," said Boateng. "It was a great day with Jay Z. We could ask him anything. We talked mostly about music and football. Jay Z knows about football and has watched numerous games."

Baseball players Rusney Castillo, CC Sabathia, and Yoenis Cespedes, basketball stars Kevin Durant and Wilson Chandler, and boxers Miguel Cotto and Andre Ward are few other athletes who signed up with Roc Nation Sports.
