Newly transferred Bastian Schweinsteiger will miss Manchester United's game against Barcelona in the International Champions Cup due to injury, according to manager Louis van Gaal.
The midfielder had his pre-season debut with the Red Devils in July 17 in a friendly match against Club America wherein they've won 1-0 in Seattle.
Schweinsteiger also played in United's 3-1 win over the San Jose Earthquakes, although his poor performance was criticised by Van Gaal.
The 30-year got knocked, which sustained him a little injury and have him ruled out of the clash against the La Liga champions as United's boss is not prepared to take risks ahead of the 2015-16 season.
"Schweinsteiger cannot play because he had a little injury," Van Gaal told reporters.
"I never talk about the injury. I say only it is a minor issue and I don't take risks in preparation time. He shall not even play for 30 minutes."
