Ferreira Carrasco has officially signed with La Liga club Atletico Madrid. He reportedly agreed to a five-year contract worth €15m.
It is believed that the Atleti have purchased 75 percent of the Belgian international's economic rights, with the Principality side retaining 25%.
Carrasco has been with Monaco since his senior debut in 2010. He started playing for their team B before eventually promoted to the Ligue 1 side in 2012 where he had a total of 81 appearances and 15 goals.
"We're very pleased with the agreement with Monaco as Yannick is a player with huge potential and has an incredible future," Atletico Madrid sporting director Jose Luis Caminero is quoted by the club's official website.
"He’s a player with great speed, excellent at driving the ball forward and has a great shot.
"He’ll contribute to our objective of increasing the level of our squad and its competitiveness perfectly. I’m convinced that he’ll bring us a lot."
The 21-year-old winger helped Monaco reach the Champions League quarter-finals and subsequently the 2015-16 playoffs.
