The 2015 All-Star Game is officially over. All hangover regarding the festivities must now be put to an end as the second half of the 2015 regular season is already underway. And, the official logo for the 2016 Midsummer Classic has also been released. Too early? The MLB and Padres don't think so.
San Diego's Petco Park will host the 2016 edition of the annual event. It will be the third time in San Diego but will be the first in Petco Park. The 1978 and 1992 games were played at Jack Murphy Stadium.
The new design is simple and on point. It actually looks so much like the Padres logo, which isn't a bad thing.
MLB commissioner Rob Manfred also hinted that next year's festivities could take advantage of the locale and extend into Mexico. This is a great time and way to reach one of his main goals which is to grow the game globally and generate interest among younger fans.
