Steering to Opposite Directions
The
Bianconeri will be chasing records as they face the Ciucciarelli in
their second to the last match in the domestic league. They are looking
to keep their unbeaten home record and extend it for the second straight
season. The team's last defeat at Turin was over two years ago with a
1-2 loss against Sampdoria. As if it isn't obvious enough, Juve's season
keeps on getting better. After officially claiming the Serie A title
earlier this month they have also nabbed the Coppa Italia trophy when
they've defeated Lazio 2-1 at Stadio Olimpico.
The
squad conceded an early goal in the first four minutes of the game. A
moment later, defender Giorgio Chiellini scored an equaliser in the 11th
minute. A surprising goal from Alessandro Matri in the 7th minute of
extra time secured their first championship in the Italian Cup for 20
years.

Still,
Juventus are thirstier than ever. Two domestic league titles won't
quench their thirst for more conquests. They will be facing Barcelona to
compete in the Champions League finals. If the Spanish giants would
triumph over Athletic Bilbao in the Copa Del Rey final, it would mean
that both teams would be aiming for a historic treble when they meet on
June 6 at the Olympiastadion in Berlin. The Italians have not won a
treble in their 117-year history.
The
current 4th placer Napoli are on the course to seize vital three
points. Unlike Juve the Azzurri's season has collapsed in the past
month. They had almost crumbled against Cesena but fought back to win
3-2 in their previous game. The Blues also suffered a poor performance
when they faced the underdogs Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk at the semi-final
stage of the UEFA Europa League.
Anything
other than additional three points would not just damage Rafael Benitez
side's Champions League hopes, but also the length of his stay with the
Neapolitans. Multiple sources suggested that the former Spanish
footballer will take a move and replace Carlo Ancelotti as Real
Madrid's manager.
“At the moment there is nothing, it’s all just general rumours,” his agent Manuel Garcia Quilon said.
“Rafa
was a Real Madrid player, he is from Madrid and was a Coach of their B
Team, so I doubt anyone would be unhappy with that history.
“I am not inside his head, but I think he would be truly happy to manage Real Madrid one day.”
Napoli would be without suspended Kalidou Koulibaly while Juve's Stephan Lichtsteiner would sit his ban.
Game is on May 24, 00:00 (GMT+8)
