Real Madrid seeks to extend reign, battles LA Galaxy in ICC inaugurals
The tournament may have changed its name
and made some tweaks on the format but Real Madrid Club de FĂștbol
nonetheless is intent on continuing its legacy of dominance in this
competition, and the quest for a title to annex their back to back
coronations from the previous league begins with the match up versus LA
Galaxy at the inaugural staging of the 2013 International Champions Cup
(ICC).
The winning team advances to Round 2 to joust
with the winner of the Juventus-Everton match, while the losing squad
fights in the crossover for a shot at fifth place versus either Juventus
or Everton.

The
game is set on August 2 at the University of Phoenix Stadium, Phoenix
in Arizona. Fans rooting for either Real Madrid or LA Galaxy could place
their bets at Bet365 SBOBET, BetVictor or Ladbrokes, which offer not
just convenience in online betting but also the chance to see the game
live online.
Replacing the World Football Challenge
(WFC) which ran for three years, the ICC boasts of some of the best
football clubs today that it has retained after the dissolution of the
WFC and Real Madrid is one of those teams.
The Los Blancos, pegged with *1.20
odds on SBOBET and Ladbrokes to win versus LA Galaxy, finished as the
best team in the field for two consecutive years - 2011 and 2012. As the
league evolved from WFC to ICC, Real Madrid is expected to pursue
another title and once again assert their dominance en route to a
championship. Isco and Asier Illarramendi - new additions to Real
Madrid's line-up - are expected to see action in the ICC and help propel
the team to victory over LA Galaxy.

LA Galaxy, pegged with *16.00 on BET365 and *13.00
on Betvictor to win versus Real Madrid, is a team consistently
overpowered by Real Madrid in the past, making Real Madrid the
overwhelming favourite in this match-up. In their last three club
friendlies, Real Madrid demolished LA Galaxy, first with a 2-3 win on
August 8, 2010, and then a 1-4 trouncing on July 17, 2011 followed by a
1-5 beating on March 8, 2012.
Both teams are expected
to be in top form, coming off several July games that allow the squads
to shake off any rust in gameplay. But even with an identical three wins
in the last five matches, Real Madrid appears capable of stopping LA
Galaxy. Real Madrid - led by Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo -
hasn't lost in its last five games while LA Galaxy is coming off a loss -
the team's second debacle in their last five games - versus Colorado
Rapids (2-0) at the Major League Soccer Cup where LA Galaxy still trails
the top three teams in the table.
