[Match Preview] UEFA Champions League Semifinals 2nd Leg - Barcelona vs Bayern Munchen

Barca: NO MORE SURPRISES!

It was a shock to everyone that Barca lost as much as they did against Bayern. Everyone was expecting a close match-up given that these two teams are one of the highest ratings in football. Before the game even started the was a media blitz about Lionel Messi being able to recover fast enough so that he could play. Apparently, he did play its just the fact the Bayern was overwhelmingly better than Barca. It might hurt some people, might even get violent reactions, but like the saying goes, the truth always hurts.

Bayern eagerly proved right away that they wanted to be the team to beat in the Champions League. Having Thomas Muller score two goals and setting up two others just shows how good and effective he can be. Under his leadership, they would really give a heavy pounding on any team they face off with. Bayern used their size advatange to dominate in the air on set pieces, at times simply bullying Barca into submission.

Barcelona really had hoped that they would get the extra boost from Lionel Messi's return, who started after missing three La Liga games with a hamstring injury. But Messi proved to be powerless to Bayner's blanketing defense and clearly not fit, was virtually invisible. He was allowed only one shot and saw little of the ball.

During this match, Barcelona never seemed to have a chance. After Mueller's header in the 25th minute, everything seemed to go downhill for them. Bayern took advantage of the situation by pounding goal after goal. Barcelona was basically stunned, and it only got worse.

At the closing seconds of the match, Barcelona seemed to be praying for the game to end. They look like they just wanted to get out of Bavaria and hopefully turn the tables around in Camp Nou stadium. It is safe to say that Barcelona will be playing for pride now since no team has ever came back from a 0-4 loss deficit in the second leg of the Champions League.

On May 2 at 02:45(GMT+8), will Barcelona get a chance to redeem themselves after their embarassing loss? Can Bayern deliver another shock value? Will Barca recover?
