J.R. Smith agrees to a two-year deal with Cavaliers

J.R. Smith announces he's re-signing with Cavaliers
On his Instagram account, shooting guard J.R. Smith announced that he has agreed to return to the Cavaliers.

According to ESPN.com, sources have informed that the free-agent and the Ohio-based team has settled on a two-year contract worth more than  $10 million total. The deal would confine Smith with the Cavs, vetoing any future trades which would give him more control over his future like what LeBron James, James Jones and Matthew Dellavedova also signed for.

Last June, the 29-year-old has opted out of the final year of his contract, seeking for a richer deal on the free-agent market. He would have been paid $6.4 million for this season, but he chose to test the free agency and other team offers.

The former New York Knicks which have been traded to the Cavs in January has been instrumental in the team's Eastern Conference finals sweep of Atlanta, averaging 18.0 points on 50 percent shooting from the field and 47.1 percent from 3-point range, along with 7.5 rebounds in four games. However, he struggled in the Finals against champions Golden State Warriors, averaging 11.5 points on 31.2 percent from the floor and 29.4 percent from 3-point range, along with 4.3 rebounds.

Through a Twitter post, LeBron James has shown his delight on Smith's decision.

What are your thoughts about this development? Looking forward to see him play with the Cavs this season?
